Overview //
The eB product architecture is robust, scalable, fast, and above all, proven to provide unquestionable data integrity.
eB is implemented using state-of-the-art object-oriented technologies provided by Microsoft’s .NET framework. The eB architecture is multi-tier, with a clear separation of data, business logic, and presentation layers. As such, eB is highly distributed and componentized for flexibility and scalability in deployment. It is easy to configure eB to match the needs of practically any computing infrastructure.
eB is a commercial (COTS) solution that is designed for rapid deployment and requires no-to-minimal customization. eB is simple to administer and provides user access from anywhere, at any time, through a standard Web browser.
Since eB is built on the Microsoft Technology stack, eB seamlessly integrates with the Microsoft platform and applications (i.e. Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server).
Business Value
The business benefits of building eB on the Microsoft technology stack and delivering eB as a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) are substantial:
- Lower initial cost and better value – Enterprise-class applications built on the Microsoft technology stack offer a lower cost of entry and increased application integration for customers who have committed to a Microsoft infrastructure.
- Improves IT agility and responsiveness to the Business – A SOA architecture provides IT with the flexibility to deploy cost effectively and to respond quickly to the needs of the business.
- Lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) – SOA-based applications support cost reduction efforts that involve software and hardware consolidation.
- Fast, low cost integration with other SOA-based enterprise applications – Customers committed to SOA increase operational efficiency by simplifying integration points and ensuring information flow between business applications.

SharePoint
Microsoft SharePoint is experiencing rapid adoption across all industry sectors and is being deployed at the departmental and enterprise level. Obtaining visibility and control of information assets across sites, farms and domains is a challenge many organizations face today.
"One of the key limitations of MOSS records management is that it is not possible to declare records and check that declaration against multiple MOSS server installations due to the lack of server replication.
This architectural limitation has implications for legal and regulatory record keeping."
- Gartner™
eB, in combination with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, enables CIOs and Compliance Officers to define and enforce a SharePoint governance and compliance policy through the identification, classification and management of information stored in SharePoint sites across the enterprise, and to do it in a way that does not compromise the ease-of-use and collaboration that makes Microsoft SharePoint so attractive.
Through site governance, unique information modeling and advanced records management, eB and SharePoint enable enterprises to prove compliance, provide proper governance, make informed decisions, and comply with regulations and legal discovery.
SharePoint usage is now growing so fast that CIOs are increasingly concerned because they don't have the necessary visibility or control of the sites and information assets to mitigate compliance-related business risk for the company.
It is their responsibility to define and enforce information policies, and in order to do so, they need visibility and control into:
- What is being discussed, produced, and shared
- Whether information is sensitive, confidential, and secure
- If it is accurate and can be trusted to support business decisions, regulatory compliance, and legal discovery
- Ultimately if the information should be governed by corporate policy and recorded
For compliance purposes, it is critical to have clearly defined and classified information. Organizations need to be able to provide compliance officers and auditors with evidence that their information policies are being followed and that the information can be trusted. eB for SharePoint, in combination with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server:
- Ensures information quality that results in improved operational efficiency
- Lowers business and compliance risk by centralizing records management
- Improves information security, visibility and access – eliminating information silos
eB and SharePoint Architecture
Developed with the same technologies as SharePoint, eB embraces Microsoft's .NET framework to form the foundation of its application server tier, web services and user interfaces. This architecture allows eB to easily be integrated to other business critical applications.

Architecture
The eB product architecture is robust, scalable, fast, and above all, proven to provide unquestionable data integrity. eB is implemented using state-of-the-art object-oriented technologies provided by Microsoft’s .NET framework. The data tier utilizes the latest in RDMS technology from either Microsoft or Oracle.
The eB architecture is multi-tier, with a clear separation of data, business logic, and presentation. eB is highly distributed and componentized for flexibility and scalability in deployment. This makes it very easy to configure eB to match the needs of practically any computing infrastructure.
eB supports a wide range of permutations of database servers, application servers, supporting service modules, and client accesses, providing the means to increase performance and add fault tolerance as required.
All functionality is exposed as Services via a Public Interface that is available for customers and third parties to expand and extend the eB functionality.
Developed with the same technologies as SharePoint, eB embraces Microsoft's .NET framework to form the foundation of its application server tier, web services and user interfaces. This architecture allows eB to easily be integrated to other business critical applications.
