Overview //
The life cycle of nuclear facilities includes licensing, construction, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning. eB for Nuclear is an integrated suite of information management solutions that ensures the integrity of controlled information by uniquely managing its connectivity to all other relevant information throughout the Iife cycle of any nuclear facility. It captures, stores and manages structured data and unstructured content, including records, specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, reports, emails, design documents and licensing documents, and identifies and relates this content through object modeling to physical items such as equipment, systems, structures and components.
eB nuclear applications are designed to comply with nuclear industry guidelines and NRC regulations wherever applicable. Each application is designed and implemented with the support and guidance of a nuclear customer to ensure the solution meets the needs of the business. The eB Nuclear Application Suite consists of Compliance, Design Engineering, Information Management, Knowledge Management, Performance Improvement and Training.

Visibility throughout the life cycle of the nuclear facility
If you are applying to license, build, operate or decommission your nuclear facility eB for Nuclear will give you process efficiencies in all life cycle phases.
A new generation of nuclear power plants is being designed and built to address the world’s renewable energy needs. Microsoft and Enterprise Informatics, a Microsoft Managed Gold Certified Partner, are providing the IT infrastructure and industry-specific software applications to support the entire information life cycle – design, construct, operate, and maintain. eB for Nuclear, built entirely on Microsoft technology, takes advantage of Enterprise Informatics’ decades of nuclear experience and incorporates industry best practices defined by nuclear industry organizations including the NRC, INPO, CAPOG and NIRMA.

License Application Phase
With the advent of the nuclear industry renaissance around the world, Utilities are considering new nuclear power facilities and are faced with the enormous task of Construction and Operating License Application (COLA) management.
eB for Nuclear is currently being used by Enterprise Informatics' customers to manage the high volumes of documentation that make up both the COLA and all the supporting reference and project related data in the preparation, review, collation and submittal of the final COLA product to the licensing agencies. Once submitted, the defense of the license submittal is also managed and statuses monitored. Action / Commitment tracking of responses to Requests for Additional Information (RAI's) ensure timely closeout of issues or questions raised.
eB Customers use eB's built-in Configuration Management capabilities to capture change history for every revision of the controlled documents secured in the nuclear records repositories. Project document control for document content check out and check in, approval, release and distribution related to project 'Requirements' structures representing compliance contexts that need to be met during this phase of the facility's lifecycle.

Construction and Commissioning
Multi-billion dollar project scopes, tight schedules, long lead-time procurement items, thousands of contractors from consortium partners and licensing compliance pressures are just some of the challenges facing project and data managers during the nuclear facility 'build' phase of the lifecycle.
eB for Nuclear is currently being used by Enterprise Informatics' customers to provide project oversight related to work breakdown requirement structures, milestones and deliverables. Contractual and Federal requirements structures guide the project team to ensure the completion and compliance of all the identified requirements for the project. These are used as context to the project documentation and data being created.
eB CAD Connect bridges the design drawing world with the eB Project Document Control world. eB Design Engineering becomes the custodian of the Design Basis data comprising of the licensing documents and the 'To-Be' Master Equipment List (MEL) database. eB Performance Improvement provides Corrective Action capabilities in accordance with the NEI 08-02 guideline during nuclear facility construction.
eB for Nuclear Training matches project training and qualification requirements with available human resource qualifications and assists in satisfying the shortfall and well as identifying soon to expire worker qualifications.
Equally important is the preparation and delivery of the complete 'as-built' data and documentation in the format needed for the Operational phase.

Operational and Decommissioning
More than twenty percent (20%) of operating nuclear plants in the USA use eB for Nuclear to improve business process efficiencies and comply with regulatory requirements.
In support of the NEI Nuclear Performance Model and according to nuclear industry guidelines, eB for Nuclear can be used to support any of the following facility business processes:

As requirements for decommissioning becomes known, these can be captured in a 'To-Be' facility configuration with a separate set of documentation all related to the identified requirement objects.
